Edited by Simo Parpola
Edited by Simo ParpolaThis dictionary contains all the words attested in Assyrian texts from the Neo-Assyrian period. Most of the vocabulary comes from Neo-Assyrian and Standard Akkadian, with some Aramaic and Neo-Babylonian entries. The Assyrian-English-Assyrian Dictionary was the first English-Akkadian dictionary ever published, and the new cuneiform edition features words written in the cuneiform script of the Neo-Assyrian period.
Simo Parpola is Professor Emeritus of Assyriology at the University of Helsinki and the publisher of the Neo-Assyrian Text Corpus Project. He is the author of Letters from Assyrian Scholars to the Kings Esarhaddon and Assurbanipal, Parts I and II, and The Correspondence of Sargon II, Part 1, all of which are published by Eisenbrauns.
